The Electric Vehicle Widespread Analysis for Tomorrow’s Transportation Solutions Project (EV WATTS) project, developed by Energetics and funded by the Department of Energy, aims to collect and analyze EV performance across the country.
EV WATTS is a national project to collect real-world EV data from fleets and individual owners. Empire Clean Cities is working with Energetics to collect data from fleets, charging infrastructures, and individual EV drivers. This data will inform future projects for EV outreach, dealership locations, and infrastructure augmentation in New York and across the country. With widespread electrification becoming more and more necessary to address the transportation sector’s growing impact on greenhouse gas emissions, data collected in this project will be vital for showing just how feasible the transition to an electric vehicle can be. Participation is simple, whether you are a light-duty EV fleet operator, EVSE network operator or individual driver! Energetics will professionally install a telematics device in your vehicle that will collect anonymized data on charging and driving patterns. These devices will then be removed after 12-18 months, leaving no impact on your vehicle. If your fleet already uses a telematics system, no installation is required. In addition to providing invaluable data to promote EV adoption, there are benefits for you as a driver or fleet! Upon the project’s completion, you will receive a personalized package outlining your vehicle’s charging and driving patterns. Again, all data collected by the telematics device will be completely anonymized. Click below to view the official Data Sharing Agreement. After reading the agreement, if you decide that you would like to participate in this project or you have any questions, please email [email protected] or complete the EV Data Partner Survey and Data Sharing Agreements below and we will be in touch with you. |
