Empire Clean Cities is working with CALSTART to engage businesses and employees who are interested in exploring the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging infrastructure (EVSE) in the workplace. Both employers and staff can take advantage of current state, federal, and local incentives to install charging stations and purchase electric vehicles.
Workplace charging makes owning an EV easier for drivers commuting into and near NYC, advances corporate sustainability initiatives, and improves the environment of offices and their communities. The program reduces the cost for employers to purchase EVSE ($8,000 per port), and also enables employees to gain valuable EV workplace charging access and to earn $500 for a new EV lease or purchase in addition to federal and state incentives. The savings can add up to $15,000!

Why Workplace Charging?
As an employer, providing electric vehicle charging at the workplace can benefit you and your employees simultaneously. Electric vehicles charge while parked, and today 80% of EV charging takes place at home or at work. As EV adoption increases, employers have an opportunity to supply charging demand at the office. Providing EV charging helps attract top talent, build loyalty with employees, and also show your commitment to sustainable energy consumption and complement other environmental initiatives. Charging stations can also count towards LEED certifications and other GHG emission reduction and mitigation policies.
