Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, the nationwide EMPOWER Workplace Charging project is accelerating the adoption of workplace charging across the country. It’s also the first and only equity-focused nationwide project of its kind.
Why Workplace Charging?
Transportation across the country is electrifying and more and more drivers are looking for places to charge their vehicles. Adding charging at workplaces is proving to be one of the best ways to help drivers access charging when they can’t install one at their home.

Revel is an EV charging champion!
Revel, a Brooklyn-based company, is accelerating EV adoption in America's biggest cities. They currently have locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and San Francisco, with plans to also expand at Laguardia, Port Morris, Red Hook, South Bronx, and more. EV adoption and charging are stuck in a chicken‑and‑egg loop: drivers won’t switch without chargers, and chargers don’t get built without drivers. Cities feel this most—limited space, high demand, and not nearly enough chargers. And Revel is solving that.

Workplace charging isn’t just an employee perk — it’s a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community.
At Lynkwell by Nayax, we’re proud to offer 22 Level 2 charging stations at our Schenectady, NY office and EVSE manufacturing facility in Rotterdam, NY — supporting employees and community members alike. We’re honored to have earned Platinum-level EVAL Certification, the national employer EV readiness certification backed by the U.S. Department of Energy. The Electric Vehicle Adoption Leadership (EVAL) program recognizes organizations leading in clean commuting through workplace EV charging, carpooling, biking, and transit initiatives that increase employee satisfaction while reducing environmental impact. |

The City University of New York (CUNY), in conjunction with The City College of New York (CCNY), completed its EV capital project this year in the North Academic Center (NAC)'s parking lot. This project features a massive ~140 kW solar carport that powers 10 dual-port level 2 EV charging stations, capable of fueling 20 vehicles simultaneously with renewable energy.
The Level 2 chargers can generate approximately 75 miles of range within 60 minutes. These chargers are only available for faculty and staff with a paid parking permit, with a usage fee. In addition, the college is planning to install a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to store excess power production. This system will also help researchers study peak-load management and grid resilience. The EV charging project is the latest in a series of sustainability upgrades across campus, as CCNY continues to lead the way in environmental stewardship. |

Con Edison serves New York City and Orange & Rockland Counties and continues to invest in infrastructure supporting the EV transition — for both company fleet vehicles and employees. In support of its Clean Energy Commitment, 100% of new light-duty vehicles purchased by CECONY and O&R are now electrified. Through the ongoing retirement of fossil fuel vehicles, Con Edison aims to have 80% of its light-duty fleet electrified by 2030 and 100% by 2035.
